How can I adjust the speed of the snowfall?
Quick answer
To adjust snowfall speed in Seasonly, open the Seasonly embed settings, switch the effect to Custom, then fine-tune Min Speed, Max Speed, and Speed Variance while checking the live preview.
If the standard Min Speed and Max Speed range does not feel slow enough or fast enough, increase Speed Variance to widen the movement range.
Fastest way to change it
In Shopify, open your theme editor and go to the Seasonly app embed settings.
Set the snowfall effect to Custom so you can edit the full speed controls.
Use Min Speed for the baseline speed, Max Speed for the fastest flakes, and Speed Variance to widen or soften the range.
Check the live preview, then click Save when the snowfall looks right.
FAQ
Lower Min Speed first. If the effect still feels too even, increase Speed Variance slightly to create a broader range of movement.
Raise Min Speed for a generally faster effect, then increase Speed Variance if you want more fast-moving flakes.
Speed Variance controls how much variation there is between slower and faster flakes. The default is 4, which gives a natural mix for most stores.
Change Max Speed when you want to limit or expand the top end of the snowfall movement. Use it together with Min Speed for a more controlled range.
Keep Speed Variance at 4, adjust Min Speed until the snowfall feels close to what you want, then make small changes to Max Speed and Speed Variance.
Reduce Speed Variance. This makes the flakes move more consistently instead of mixing noticeably slow and fast motion.
Use the live preview after each change so you can judge the snowfall against your store banner images, product pages, and mobile layout before saving.
